What do you guys think of it?

I know Americans don't like govt stepping in but as I see it it's a catch 22 with not much of a choice. What other options do you have?

The whole global economy needs a kick start right now and the way most companies are crying I don't see much of a choice. Is this a failure of capitalism, greed, socialism?

I could understand how a lot are peeved though at the mortgage bailout. Yikes.

Again, greed at fault again, why are your banks offering mortgage plans where only interest needs to be paid.

Maybe we can ask the politicians in Washington?

It's not a stimulus plan. It's Obama and Democrats paying off the groups and powerful individuals that elected him. It's simply a looter's system.

Examples: Union's getting $ and special tax treatments. Administration connected companies getting special treatments (http://stossel.blogs.foxbusiness.com/2010/01/14/a-little-company-praised-by-president-obama/).

Hypothetical question to those of you who support or supported Obama: Let's assume hypothetically that the theories connecting Haliburton and the Iraq war to Bush/Cheney making personal profits are true. It's obvious this is happening now under the Obama administration. Is this the change you supported/voted for???

The economic system you call "capitalism" failed you last year and has caused grief for a lot of people.

First off, I love how everyone is blaming Obama for the economy, this is laughable considering he inherited this mess which had started over a year he got into office and 4-5 months after the big crash of Sept08.

Secondly, Bush passed the first stimulus package to bail out corporate America, yes Obama passed more to bailout the auto industry even more to the big banks, AIG, etc..

Bail outs for the banks, isn't that ironic? More proof on who really runs the show (Dem or Repub in office).

As I said in my original post from last year, double edged sword since your gvmnt couldn't allow to have AIG go down as they insure the majority of mortgages (your economic system failed here again, if gvmt hadn't stepped in what would have happened?? Failure of capitalist system). If AIG didn't get the bail out, you would be in even more trouble today.

De-regulation during the Bush years, banks looking at the now instead of the future, bad mortgages, over inflated stocks. In essence the supposed system you guys love and call "free-market capitalism" at work.

It sounds simple, but it is plain greed that got the US into this mess. Your system is flawed, admit it.

Go see how the Canadian banks did last year, barely affected except for those who had some investments in US mortgages (and even that was just a blip on the radar). Funny how housing has not slowed down here, except for a minor drop late in 08 (yes foreclosures have slightly increased due to some layoffs).

Why? Because our banking system is solid, we're not handing out mortgages for nothing and as of last week the gvmt tightend the leash even moreso, some think too tight but that's another story.

As for your health care system, the president and your gvmt don't have enough power to pass it, there's no chance in hell big corporate America/Insurance companies will let this go through, are you crazy, your gvmt system is laughable, they have no power on these matters, let alone the people.

Keep your 30-40 million uninsured people sick, no one needs to worry about them, no one cares about them, they are useless to society, God what a pathetic society. BTW, how is that little Iraq project coming along after 8 years?

Awww man!

I thought all was gonna be right once we elected Obama. You know, world peace, cat's sleeping with dogs, Canadians and Europeans loving Americans again. But all I am feeling is the same old hate.

At least it has been a cool winter after all right? Obama done stopped global warming right in it's tracks.
